FINAL REPLACEMENT OF HEXAVALENT CHROME IN THE AEROSPACE SECTOR
Developing a viable and sustainable alternative to hard chrome, a process that provides excellent surface properties but uses hexavalent chromium, which is allowed until September 2024, is essential for processors and manufacturers of components with high mechanical and tribological requirements.
The SUSCROM project was created as a response to the expiration of the authorization for the use of hexavalent chromium. (Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation).

The project is included in the Program for Aeronautical Technology (PTA). It is funded by the CDTI as part of the Recuperation, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
The participants in the project are CHEMPLATE, SURTECH, EGILE and ELHCO.
